President & Chief Executive Officer

Sam is a graduate of Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College, with a degree in management and held the position of executive vice president/chief of staff, UHI, since Oct. 2006.

Sam started his career with U-Haul in 1990, working in the Yellow Pages Department. In 1992, he moved to Customer Service/ Hot Line, as a Hot Line operator. In 1993, as a special projects coordinator, Sam helped bring the FirstClass e-mail system to U-Haul, and helped with the first PC installations in key-city shops.

In 1998, Sam formed the Web Team to develop uhaul.com into a state of-the-art Web site. Sam continued to lead the Company’s Web-based evolution, helping to start uhauldealer.com, the eMove Moving Help Network, emove.com and uhaul.net. In 2005, Sam assumed responsibility for information technology (IT), WebSelfStorage and the online store on uhaul.com..

Vice President of Underwriting and U-Haul Insurance Programs

Doug has held the position of Vice President of U-Haul Insurance Programs since 2002 and the Vice President of Underwriting since 2003. Prior to 2002 he was the Director of Marketing for Repwest (2000).

Doug is responsible for underwriting and design of the insurance products sold to U-Haul rental customers and dealers. In addition, Doug is responsible for managing the cost of risk for U-Haul including responsibility of all risk transfer to the insurance market.

Prior to joining Repwest, Douglas has worked in the insurance industry for over 23 years in a number of roles including Director of Product Development and Marketing, Chief Financial Officer, Senior Manager Financial Services Group Coopers & Lybrand and Senior Financial Auditor.

Doug was licensed as CPA in Pennsylvania in 1982. Doug received his bachelors of science degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee.

Vice President of Claims

Kathy has held the position of Vice President of Claims since January 2003. Prior to 2003 she managed the Nebraska Regional Field Claim Office for nearly 8 years. She began her career with Repwest in January 1996 as a Senior Claim Adjuster.

Kathy is responsible for overseeing all claims operations and claim support departments for the United States and Canada. The claims division consists of 5 Regional Claim Offices. And several support departments, such as SIU, Subrogation, Desk Review Program, and Central Reporting, just to name a few. The entire claims division and support staff consists of approximately 200 people.

Prior to joining Repwest, Kathy has worked in the insurance industry and self insured environment since 1989.

Vice President of Investments & Treasury Management

Kristin was promoted to the position of Vice President of Investments & Treasury Management in 1998. She began her career with Repwest in 1994.

In her current position Kristin is responsible for the invested asset portfolio as well as the treasury functions of Repwest Insurance Company.

Prior to joining Repwest, Kristin worked for the City of Tempe.

She holds a MBA from the University of Phoenix, a bachelors of science degree in accounting from Arizona State University and a bachelors of science degree in managements from Arizona State University.

Chief Financial Officer

Ed has been the Company’s Chief Financial Officer since 2002. He is responsible for the financial aspects of the company including regulatory and annual reporting on both a statutory and a GAAP basis.

Prior to joining Repwest Insurance Company, Ed was the Chief Financial Officer of Tenet Physician Services, Western Region and prior to that he spent 13 years working with Big 4 accounting firms primarily providing financial consulting services regarding corporate restructurings or financial litigation matters.

He is a CPA licensed in the State of Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelors of science degree in accounting.
